Purpose

This is the 1st conference of China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS) and its official journal-China Health Review (CHR). This conference aims to bridge the professional minds within CHPAMS across disciplines related to health policy and public health. The participants will have the opportunity to establish professional network with potential leaders in the field. Scientific and professional development sessions will be developed based on interest groups. The Board of Directors of CHPAMS and Editorial Board of CHR will host business meetings and communicate with engaged members to promote the organization and the journal to a new stage. 

Keynote Speaker: Jeffrey P. Koplan, MD, MPH

Dr. Koplan is Vice President for Global Health at Emory University. He serves on the advisory board for CHPAMS. From 1998 to 2002, Dr. Koplan served as the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Koplan is a graduate of Yale College, the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a Master of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Institute of Medicine. 

Call for abstracts: 

Although abstract submission is not required, we welcome abstracts on health research, policy, practice, and education related to China and the general population health sciences. We especially encourage methodological or theoretical innovations related to health policy and management in China. The abstract shall be structured with introduction, method, results, and discussion (400-word limit). Authors have the option to indicate whether this abstract will compete for “best abstract award.” The winner will receive $100 plus the certificate. The full article will be invited to be published in an upcoming issue of the China Health Review. 

Deadline of abstract submission is March 31, 2016. Notification of acceptance will be made no later than April 20, 2016. The best abstract award will be announced in the Atlanta meeting.

Incentives for students and volunteers

1.     For all students who pay the conference registration fee and attend the conference, CHPAMS will refund 100% of the registration fee after the conference.

2.     For all volunteers who pay the conference registration fee and help organize or facilitate the conference in a significant way, 50% refund will be issued after the conference. 

3.     Limited number of travel grants ($250) will be provided for students who pay the conference registration fee. To apply, email member@chpams.org with updated CV.  

4.     To receive any of the incentives, attendants must be registered members on www.chpams.org and pay the conference registration fee first.

We will have a voluntary, self-paid team building event on May 15 (Sunday) morning and attendants are flexible to arrange their departures from Atlanta.
