Dr. Sara Markowitz is an Associate Professor of Economics at Emory University and Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Dr. Markowitz’s research interests are on the economics of healthy and unhealthy behaviors, with an emphasis on the health of children and adolescents

Belton Fleisher serves as the Executive Editor for China Economic Review. His research has focused on China’s economy since 1990, and he has authored and co-authored over 40 articles in professional journals.

Dr. WANG Yu graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1982.  He continued onto his graduate study at the Institute of Hepatology, Beijing Medical University from 1983 to 1989 and received his Master’s and Doctorate of Medicine during this period. From 1991 to 1993, he studied at the Jichi Medical School in Japan and received a Ph.D. degree in Preventive Medicine.

Helena Wang is Asia Editor of The Lancet.  She is The Lancet’s first point of contact with authors in Asia, building relationships with top researchers and research institutes within the region, and identifying and attracting submissions of the best research.  She also does peer-review manuscripts, including fast track submissions, writes editorials, and develops The Lancet’s presence in China through conferences and themed issues. She oversees the content of Chinese edition of The Lancet. She has published over 30 editorials and 3 commentaries in The Lancet

Professor BA Denian is an elected member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academies. He has dedicated his academic career to tumor immunology research. In the 1980s, he discovered a natural thymocytotoxic autoantibody, and proposed a theory to illustrate the relationship between abnormal immune function and hypertension, and thus is recognized as a pioneer of cancer biology and theory in China.

Dr. XIAO Shuiyuan's research interests include community mental health, mental health policy, and suicide prevention. He is the Chair of the Committee on Crisis Intervention, the Chinese Association for Mental Health; member of the International Academy of Suicide Research, the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry, and the Expert Panel on Disease Prevention and Control for the Ministry of Health, China.

Professor Michael Phillips, MD, MPH, MA, is Director of the Suicide Research and Prevention Center at the Shanghai Mental Health Center of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor of Psychiatry and Global Health at Emory University, Executive Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Research and Training in Suicide Prevention at Beijing Hui Long Guan Hospital, co-Editor-in Chief of the Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry,  editorial consultant for The Lancet and a former International Clinical Epidemiology Network liaison officer for China.

Dr. Yuanli Liu, serving on the faculty of the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard School of Public Health, is founding director of the Harvard School of Public Health China Initiative since 2005.

Dr. LI Ling is Professor of Economics and Deputy Director of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER), housed within the National School of Development, Peking University.

Dr. YU Hai is a Professor in Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He also serves as the Director of International Education Program and the Director of Center of Distance Education in Zhejiang University School of Medicine.

Dr. Teh-wei Hu is a Professor Emeritus of Health Economics and served as Associate Dean and Department Chair in the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. REN is the Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health (MOH) of the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Jeffery P. Koplan was the Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 1998 to 2002, and is currently the Vice President for Global Health at Emory University and the Director of Emory Global Health Institute.

Dr. Gordon Liu is a professor of economics in Guanghua School of Management, Peking University; and Director of the PKU China Center for Health Economic Research (CHER).

Dr. Lincoln C. Chen is President of the China Medical Board (CMB), an independent American foundation endowed by John D. Rockefeller to advance health in China and Asia by strengthening medical education, research, and policies.

Dr. Jin Ma is the Executive Dean of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Public Health.
