· China Health Policy and Outcome Research Social Event Organized by CHPAMS
Lizheng Shi, Tulane University
On May 19, 2019, around one hundred Chinese researchers and scholars gathered at Tulane University for the China Health Policy and Outcome Research Social Event. This event was organized by China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS), Prof. Lizheng Shi and his team from Tulane University.
Prof. Lizheng Shi gave an opening remark for this event. He said, this meeting provided a great opportunity for researchers and professionals from health insurance, health economics, and pharmcoeconomics to discuss and share the challenges and opportunities in their works. He added that, the discussion from this meeting could be contribute to the improvement of healthcare and health economic policy in China.
Prof. Wen Chen from Fudan University gave a keynote address on the developments and prospects on the pharmcoeconomics and health technology assessment in China. He addressed the implementation of pharmcoeconomics and health technology form a policy perspective in China.
Dr. Hong Li, the vice-president of Digital China Health, addressed the situation and trends of the real world research in China.
During the first panel session, five researchers from China and US shared their views on HERO, data analysis, and pharmcoeconomics research and implementation in China; the implementation of evidence based health policy in the US CDC. These researchers were Min Hu from Fudan University, Mengchun Gong from Digital China Health, Ming Hu from Sichun University, Jian Wei Xuan from Sun Yat-sen University, and Hui Shao from Florida University.
During the second panel session, Wai-kit Ming (Sun Yat-sen University), Larry Liu (Merck), Qiang Shi (J&J), Yang Xie (IQVIA), and Cindy Gao (Pharmerit), shared their experience as early-career researchers.
· CHPAMS members attending the Academy Health Annual Research Meeting

On June 2, 2019, around 20 CHPAMS members attending the Academy Health Annual Research Meeting gathered and visited the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, DC. All CHPAMS members had a great time expanding their professional and personal networks through this event.

Nengliang Yao, Xiaojie Sun, Shandong University
China accounts for approximately 27% of global cancer deaths. However, the lasting effects of cancer and cancer treatments on patients have not been investigated in China. . Prof. Nengliang Yao and A/Prof. Xiaojie Sun at Shandong University, developed a questionnaire, the China Survey of Experiences with Cancer, for Chinese cancer survivors. Improving China’s medical payment models was the topic of discussion when Yale School of Public Health Dean Sten H. Vermund traveled to Beijing in January 2019 to meet with officials from China’s National Health Commission as part of the country’s ongoing healthcare reform efforts.
